Bathroom inspiration

Apr 25, 2022

Bathrooms are one of the most used rooms in our homes. Therefore, they need to be practical but luxurious, functional but personal. To ensure that our clients experience these feelings in their bathroom we follow three steps when creating their perfect space.

Firstly, we design the layout. We examine various details such as the size of the space and what features will best suit our clients. Would they like a wet room, a large vanity, two sinks, or a walk-in shower? If the clients have a large family and children, then they may require more storage space which we will factor into our designs. However, a couple may value a his-and-her vanity design with large mirrors. Recess shelving is also a popular addition to create interest in the bathroom, to store bottles and candles in the shower and bath. To promote luxury, we use a variety of premium sanitary ware brands including; Villeroy and Boch, Victoria & Albert, Matki, Hansgrohe and Gessi.

Next, we focus on tiles and lighting. Large format tiles are our go-to when designing bathrooms. In the pictures below of our projects, we have used large tiles on the floors and walls. They are a great alternative to paint and wallpaper as they better protect the walls from moisture and splashes. Lighting is key in the bathroom. Layered lighting throughout the bathroom creates depth and interest. Task lighting around mirrors and in the shower illuminates these specific areas. Ambient lighting can be created by installing floor lights around the bath and light stripes in niches and recesses.

Finally, we add the finishing touches. Brass accents on handles, taps and wall lights add warmth to a minimal colour scheme. Luxury accessories such as Molton Brown and Aesop products, and Diptyque candles add a spa-like feel to your bathroom. Investing in quality, luxe bath towels gives a chic edge to the design.

If you need a bathroom refresh and require some inspiration, we are here to assist you with all of your design needs.
